The schedule and important guidelines for the undergraduate midterm examinations for the first semester of the 2026 academic year at the Sejong Campus are as follows:

1. Schedule: April 21, 2026 (Tue) ~ April 27, 2026 (Mon) [Refer to Attachment 1]

2. Examination Format

In principle, examinations will be conducted in person.

However, in exceptional cases, such as unavoidable overseas stay of students, widespread infectious disease outbreaks, difficulties in securing examination venues due to large class sizes, or when the nature of the course necessitates remote (non-face-to-face) evaluation or assignment-based assessment, examinations may be conducted remotely using the TrustLock function of the university LMS or replaced with assignment submissions.

3. Recommendations for Instructors and Departments

(1) Prior Communication with Students

Even if examination methods have already been announced in the course syllabus, instructors are advised to communicate and coordinate with students in advance to prevent confusion and ensure smooth exam administration.

(2) Make-up / Absence Grade Recognition System

Students who are unable to take exams due to illness, military service, or other unavoidable reasons may apply for grade recognition for missed exams in accordance with Article 45, Paragraph 2 of the Academic Regulations, Articles 69 and 70 of the Academic Operation Regulations.

[For details on eligibility, application procedures, required documents, and forms, refer to Attachments 2 and 3]

(3) Use of Generative AI (e.g., ChatGPT)

In accordance with the university’s guidelines on the use of generative AI such as ChatGPT, instructors should consider both the educational benefits and potential negative impacts of generative AI, decide whether to permit its use (especially for assignments), and clearly inform students and specify this in the course syllabus. [Refer to Attachment 4]

(4) Evaluation Method

Each course will be evaluated according to its designated grading system (absolute or relative evaluation).
Detailed grading schedules will be announced separately at the end of the semester.

(5) Additional Guidelines for Exam Administration

1.  Classes other than exams during the exam period must be conducted as originally scheduled (In-person classes → in person, remote classes (live or recorded) → remote)

However, in unavoidable circumstances (e.g., classroom shortages due to exams or scheduling conflicts), remote classes may be used.
※ Makeup classes for canceled sessions may also be conducted remotely, even if originally planned as in-person classes.

2.   In accordance with the Higher Education Act and Ministry of Education guidelines, each course must meet the required 15 weeks of instruction per semester (30 sessions for courses meeting twice a week, 15 sessions for courses meeting once a week). Please refer to guidelines regarding class cancellations and makeup sessions.

3.  For courses held once or twice a week (including consecutive sessions), conducting an in-person exam, remote exam, or assignment-based evaluation will be counted as one class session for that week.

4.  To prevent academic misconduct, strict proctoring must be implemented during exams. If cheating is detected, appropriate measures such as grade invalidation or disciplinary action may be taken in accordance with university regulations.
